The Ben Nevis Coire Leis is named after the dramatic route up Ben Nevis mountain range and offers the main source of water for the distillery. First fill bourbon casks were expertly chosen to mature this rich and warming single malt. Aromas of toffee, honeyed vanilla and a barley sugar sweetness give way to a palate filled with fresh pear and apricots notes with a smooth, creamy woody finish. A perfect whisky gift that would be a great partner on any hike!

In 1825 ‘Long’ John McDonald founded the distillery in the foothills of the famous Ben Nevis mountain in the Highlands of Scotland. In 1989 the distillery was sold to the renowned Japanese whisky company Nikka who use much of the single malt for their own blends. The distillery’s 10 year old single malt was recently given a fresh design plus a none age statement has been added the portfolio.

Official Tasting Notes
Nose: A rich and warming character with toffee and honeyed vanilla, a light woody aroma finishing with barley sugar sweetness.
Palate: Initial notes of fresh pears and apricots followed by a malty sweetness.
Finish: Leading to a smooth, creamy and woody finish.
