Daftmill Whisky

Daftmill is located on a picturesque working farm near Cupar, Fife on the east coast of Scotland. This small Lowland distillery was founded in 2005 by brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert who run the production for only a couple of months in both summer and then again in winter time. The single malt’s name derives from the local ‘Daft’ Burn which appears to run upstream! When built the farms mill powered by the burn was aptly named Daft Mill. The malting barley grown at the farm is not only used for their own spirit production but sold for use for other distilleries too.  
After three years since the beginning of the production the spirit could be sold as a single malt however it wan’t until 2018 that 629 bottles were released for sale. The brothers were keen to wait until they felt the whisky was ready. The character of whisky produced is fruity and light which is typical of the traditional Lowland style. Each release of this great whisky is highly coveted by many whisky enthusiast.
