Glendronach Whisky
Glendronach a Highland region distillery is located near to Forgue in Aberdeenshire and was founded back in 1826 by a consortium. James Allardes was at the time one of the owners. Glendronach has changed hands many times since then and was bought in 2016 by Brown Forman who took over Benriach Distillery Company. Sales of Glendronach whisky have grown in recent times and this trend is expected to carry on hence the current production capacity of two million litres is now being reviewed. In July 2022 a formal application was made to the council to expand. The plan is to house two more stills and increase the production capability to four million litres per year.
In 2016 a new master blender was appointed. Dr Rachel Barrie has over 26 years of experience of perfecting here art. The Glendronach core range are characterised by being matured in fine Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks giving the whisky a great rich depth and finish.
