Glenmorangie Whisky

Glenmorangie was first founded in 1843 when William Mathesen applied for a licence. This farm distillery was then know as Morangie. Now the distillery is a globally renowned top seller of single malt and has a capacity of 6.5 millions litres. 

The distillery’s stills increased from four to eight in 1990. There has also been a recent expansion where an attractive glass building know as the Lighthouse was constructed. This building is where tests for releases of Glenmorangie in times to come are conducted. There are a pair of stills here that replicate the existing ones although slightly smaller plus they have water jackets!

A giraffe is the brand symbol of this popular well know distillery. The stills are as tall as a giraffe allowing for more reflux in the distillation giving a whisky that is both delicate and fruity. Glenmorangie even have a great conservation partnership with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. 

 The distillery enjoys hosting tours and tasting for its many guest from around the world and it is certainly well worth the visit.
