Green Spot Whiskey

Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey crafted at the Midleton Distillery in Cork. This whiskey is made by Irish Distillers for the independent wine & spirit merchants Mitchell & Son of Dublin. Established in 1805 Mitchell & Son also sell the Yellow Spot, Red Spot and Blue Spot whiskies. Green Spot is a bonded whisky that is highly regarded.

When Mitchell & Son began bonding whiskey Robert Mitchell would sample these maturations and decide when best to bottle them. The end of the casks would be marked with a coloured spot to indicate the best age for each whiskey. The ten year old Green Spot was the most favoured of all the Spot whiskies and as a result the only one to be constantly available. There are four newer none age releases of Green Spot and the ten year old now comprises of a blend of seven to ten year old single pot still whiskies.
