Longmorn Whisky
Longmorn is a Speyside distillery that lies south of the town of Elgin in Morayshire. Construction of the distillery began in 1893 by John Duff & Company and production commenced a year later. Now owned by Chivas Brothers {Pernod Ricard} Longmorn is mainly used for blending. It is a key component of the popular older releases of Chivas Regal and Royal Salute. Little in the way of Longmorn single malt is sold per year however there are plenty of independent bottler releases.
This distillery is home to eight spirit still with sloping lyne arms. The new make spirit produced has a real depth and fruitiness to it. The classic style of Longmorn is rich, soft and sherried with great potential for ageing. In the core range there’s the The Distiller’s Choice, a 16 year old and a 23 year old. A Longmorn 18, 23 and 25 year old were also showcased in the Secret Speyside Collection from Chivas Brothers.
