Torabhaig Whisky

Torabhaig is the new, picturesque distillery on the Isle of Skye in the Highland whisky producing region. Founded in 2016 by Mossburn Distillers it is the second ever distillery on the island and has a production capacity of 500 thousand litres. An old nineteeth century farmstead was chosen as the new home for the distillery to take advantage of the pure spring water of the Allt Breacach and Allt Gleann burns perfect for single malt whisky produciton. The famstead now beautifully converted is well equiped with 1.5 ton stainless steel semi lauter mash tun, eight Douglas fir wash-backs, one wash and one spirit still. The first single malt whisky named the Legacy Series was released in February 2021. This was made from heavily peated barley with the spirit having rested in first fill bourbon barrels. The second in the Legacy Series also released later in 2021, the Allt Gleann was matured in both re-fill and first fill bourbon casks
